Same Ole Two Step, The New Line Dance Taking America By Storm Goes To Radio Nationally May 21st

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) May 09, 2012

With the success of major line dances like “The Electric Slide”, “The Cha Cha Slide” and more recently “The Wobble” there is no wonder major labels and promoters all across the country are asking the question “who sings The Same Ole 2 Step”? This new line dance is bubbling throughout the country causing the music industry to take notice. The answer to this worldwide question is Entertainment Distrikt. The Entertainment Distrikt is releasing the single to urban and rhythmic radio nationwide on Monday May 21st and the group is ready to show the entire world how to do the same ole 2 step.

The three artists DJ Mic 360, Swagga Wilkes and Kayno are long term friends and business partners who have been in the business for over a decade and pride themselves as being great entertainers. Their work includes being background dancers for major artists and celebrity hosting for local television shows throughout the Dallas metroplex.

With the song quickly being played throughout the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Georgia, Willhouse Entertainment consultant Derryl Williams seems to think that this is the one. “I think we have something special here,” says Williams with a confident smile on his face. “It’s been a long time since I have been a part of something that has taken off so fast.”

Behind this great talent is a sound management team, Diligent Entertainment, the well-respected entertainment company that has created and promoted special events throughout the South. They have positioned ENT Distikt to perform in front of artists like Tyrese, Silk, Joe, Dave Hollister to name a few with more to be announced soon. It is this structure that has allowed Ent District to move this far and the same structure is expected to take them to the top of the charts.

This is just the beginning of what is to come from this sensational group who are planning their nationwide tour and creating a line dance workout dvd scheduled to be released in the third quarter as a support for the fight of a healthy balance for all age groups.

Then we were unceremoniously thrown back on the bus and driven back to our hotel on Miami Beach.

Where we had to get ready to pack and return to Jolly Old. I did not want to go back, I decided in that moment, I could not leave this Paradise and return to England to my miserable life to the home I no longer shared with my husband. I did not want to return to the depressing job, to my family’s endless craziness and to taking care of everyone.

My Mum threw a fit she was not getting on the plane without me. She could not fly home alone, she was terrified of the flight and anyway I had no money, no job, no papers, nowhere to live. Was I crazy I had to go back?
When we arrived at Miami Airport, my mum went to the bar saying she needed a drink to get the courage up for the flight. Well when we finally got on the plane which was full and a very tight squeeze getting to our seat, she threw a wobbler, as we call it, and started to have a panic attack saying she could not breathe and was claustrophobic. It took 4 stewards and passengers to calm her down and get her in her seat. Then they actually gave her whiskey before take-off to keep her in her seat.

Finally we did make it back to Manchester and then on to Blackpool, where it was freezing cold, raining and miserable the day we arrived. I could not believe how dark everything seemed; how very cold, dark and miserable it all was, I cried myself to sleep that night and vowed I would come back to Florida one day soon very soon.

Westtown, PA (PRWEB) March 16, 2012

Beginning February 27, Westtown Middle School morphed into “Shakespeare Central.” Regular classes gave way for an entire week to a series of specialized workshops on the Bard and the Elizabethan era. Shakespeare would have been in his element as students traveled by horseback, worked in guilds making stained glass, constructed working siege engines and cut pretty capers in Elizabethan dances. But blogs? Tweets? Fakebook pages? LOL, Will Shakespeare.

Utilizing social media was just one of the ways teachers brought relevance to the topic as they made Shakespeare come alive for middle school students of the 21st century at Westtown, a pre-K – 12 college prep school in West Chester, PA. Workshops on calligraphy, Elizabethan games and sports (“what Shakespeare did when he wasn’t busy writing”), and food made learning fun.

Westtown Middle School teacher Lisa Cromley said, “Students feasted on food from Shakepeare’s kitchen. They loved the idea of those elaborate Elizabethan food spectacles: marzipan sculptures, purple rice balls, green bread, and fish (of the Swedish candy variety) swimming in aspic, which for us was Jello.”

Another Westtown teacher, Megan Rose, said the active, engaged and integrated learning that took place in the Shakespeare Festival mirrors real life. Students not only read about transportation in the time of Shakespeare; they also learned to ride horses and care for them. The line from “Macbeth,” “Something wicked this way comes,” took on new meaning as they learned about people of a pre-scientific world who saw witchcraft and the supernatural as explanations for life’s mysteries.

Young people learned new skills during the Shakespeare Festival. Making paper, sewing banners with heraldic designs, dancing courtly dances, painting murals, juggling and learning to parry with swords were but a few of them. And throughout it all, students in the “London Herald” blogged, tweeted, filmed and photographed, creating their own annals of the Festival.

Students also performed condensed versions of three of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays. Each grade collaborated as they helped build the set, hang lights, build props, design costumes, apply makeup, and rehearse – for two months – to breathe life into these 500+ year old plays. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” “Twelfth Night,” and “Taming of the Shrew” were staged by the young Westtown thespians.

“Hearing students quoting lines from the plays as they walked down the halls made my day,” said Judy Asselin, director of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” the 6th grade play. “These powerful lines will be with them for the rest of their lives.”

So we walked in to the Forge restaurant and it was lovely inside. We were ushered to our table and my Mum ordered drinks. She started drinking and I was very nervous as she would behave badly when drinking and this was such a classy restaurant. I was afraid she would end up embarrassing us both or we might be escorted out. Needless to say, we did have a wonderful dinner till all of a sudden my mum got up to go the ladies room. She was gone for a long time and I started to think she was maybe at the bar. I was about to go get her when she came towards me almost dragging a gentlemen by the arm and talking very loud. Everyone heard her saying she wanted him to meet her friend, meaning me (whom she never introduced as her daughter). He was a tall distinguished looking gentlemen nicely dressed and he looked to be somewhere in his late 40s.

I assumed mum was trying to pick him up for herself, so I put on a brave face and tried help rescue him from her clutches. I shook his hand as he introduced himself as Art. I noticed he had lovely kind eyes and I felt sorry for his being dragged over to our table like this. Apparently, she had spoken to him on her way to the powder room and told him a story of our coming on holiday. She also told some stuff about me and she wanted to introduce him to me. OH My God, I did not know what to say or where to look. So we sat together and he ordered more wine and we talked and talked and talked.

We left the restaurant and ended up at Sambo’s on Miami Beach close to our hotel for breakfast at 5 am. Art was flying back to New York later that day and mum and I were on a bus trip to Disney world. We had actually really enjoyed our time together and had hit it off big time.

I could see Art was interested in me but figured we would probably never see each other again though we exchanged information and promised to call and write each other. My mum was thrilled with herself for bringing him over to me and I must say that it had turned out a lot better than I thought. I really liked him and hoped we would stay in touch.

More to follow. Stella

Weston, Florida (PRWEB) April 19, 2012

Cheerleading has come a long way from the days of saddle shoes and pom-poms. Today’s cheerleaders are athletes in every sense of the word. At The Sagemont School, members of its competitive cheerleading team are respected student-athletes and role models on campus.

Cheerleading is a recognized sport by the Florida High School Athletic Association. In addition to cheering at football or basketball games, cheerleading teams also compete. At the 2012 Florida Cheer and Dance Competition, the Sagemont team received first place in its division and second place all-around. The girls also participated in last fall’s Universal Cheerleaders Association Competition in Orlando.

“These girls are true athletes, as they must learn flexibility, gymnastics, dancing and timing, stunting and cheering as a unit,” explains Christy Safont, head cheerleading coach at Sagemont. “It is a physically challenging sport as the girls push their physical abilities when they throw girls in the air, tumble and perform a non-stop two minute and 30 second routine which has over 50 counts of material.”

High school student, Briana Padron likes the exhilaration of competing. “My favorite part of competitive cheerleading is actually being on the floor and competing because we work so hard for a crazy two minute routine that only has one chance to hit, so in that moment when it all comes together it’s nerve racking and exciting.”

Teammate Jessica Velez, a senior, also enjoys the excitement of performing on stage. “It’s so much fun to me, and all the energy from the fans and other teams help pump me up.”

“What I enjoy most is getting out on the floor to show people our dedication to cheerleading and to show how hard we work,” adds middle school student grader Elizabeth Hurwitz.

Of course, the girls also enjoy cheering for the Sagemont Lions basketball team which made it all the way to the State Championship Tournament in Lakeland this year. They came in second in the state for their division.

Just like the boys basketball team, the cheerleaders put in hours upon hours of practice. According to Coach Safont, the team practices four times a week after school and once a month they practice on Saturday for two hours at a local cheerleading training facility with a competitive floor and experienced instructors. “These girls pack so much into a short time that it is amazing how much better we get every year,” shares the coach. “The level of difficulty increases every year and that is a testament to the type of girls we have.”

The cheerleaders are true role models on campus. They all maintain above average GPAs, are leaders in various clubs and honor societies, and are active in school functions and activities. “Academics is always the girls’ first priority,” explains Coach Safont. “With a coaching staff comprised of Sagemont math and science teachers, we make sure to incorporate study and homework time between practice and games and on trips.”

The girls also learn a lot from cheerleading. Because it is a team sport, they learn how to deal with many different personalities. According to Coach Safont, they also learn to be patient, adjust and to ‘go with the flow,’ and function as a unit rather than an individual.

That’s a lesson Jessica Velez will take with her when she goes to college next year. “From cheerleading I learned what it means to be a good role model and what it takes to be a good teammate. You have to be respectful and reasonable towards everyone. It also taught me to cooperate better with people.”

“I have learned discipline, as well as how challenging it can be to work with so many different personalities,” adds Briana Padron, noting that in the end they all learned to cooperate and work together as a family.

And that’s the lesson Coach Safont, Coach Henne and Coach Bononi want all the girls to take away from this experience. “There is definitely a bond within the team. We are a huge family and try to look out for each other.”

The Sagemont School offers a college preparatory curriculum and operates two campuses in Weston, Fl. In preschool through the elementary grades, The Sagemont School provides core concepts in a creative environment combined with weekly specials that include science, art, music, Spanish for non-native & native speakers, swimming, PE and media and technology. From middle school through high school graduation, Sagemont students choose from a variety of regular, honors and AP course work. In addition, students share in a networked wireless laptop environment and participate in a comprehensive guidance program for college entrance. It was a long long flight about 10 hours in the air and I had never been on a plane for that length of time. I had only once before to Jersey which was only a 1 hour flight. My mum drank like a fish all the way and then she got sick. She also had a panic attack getting off the plane as she was claustrophobic. It was a full packed plane load of crazy first time British folk extremely anxious to get off the plane. In those days everyone had tons of carry on as there were not the limitations of today. They were bashing each other on the head trying to get those huge heavy bags down and along the isle it was crazy.

They got us off as fast as possible before my mum caused a riot. The first thing I remember when we stepped of the plane was the heat. I could not catch my breath at first I had never experienced tropical heat and it was shocking at first. I stood still and breathed slowly to adjust. We climbed in to a taxi and started our trip to the Carillon Hotel Miami Beach. I remember it like it was yesterday, the sight of those beautiful Palm trees lining the road. The water front houses lining one side of the road and the grand luxurious hotels on the other side as we came along Collins Avenue.
I was in complete disbelieve of this heaven on earth. I felt like I was not really here but dreaming. We pulled up to our hotel and as we walked in to the grand foyer lobby area, we started shaking as the ice cold air hit us, also something we had never known. Living in England and never having been to a hot climate we only knew central heating and never felt cold air blowing on us before, so we started to shiver and of course after checking in headed for the bar, thinking we needed a cognac to warm us up.
We were British people from the North of England, who had never traveled anywhere further than an hour or two away from home. We were like fish out of water when coming to the tropics of America for the first time. All I can say is it is probably like putting humans on another planet, that is how we all felt and even though most of the holiday trip was planned out for us, we did have some crazy experiences here, as simple as going out to eat, most of the time we stayed close to the hotel.
Restaurants close by were IHOP (international house of pancakes), Sambos and my favorite Pumpernicks and we even went to Publix where shopping was not a pleasure because we could not find anything familiar and were just lost with the money. Even at the check-out, they must have had a good laugh at us, we used to hand them a bunch of coins and let them pick out what they needed, as we did not know a quarter from a dime.

The beach and the ocean was the best; stepping in the water was like taking a warm bath and it felt so good. I love to swim in the ocean but our Lilly white skin turned to red blisters and we were all like fried lobster. I had my first Pina Colada, my first frozen Margarita and many other fruity drinks with little umbrellas too many to mention here.
One night Mum decided she wanted to go to a fancy restaurant named The Forge in Miami as we had only stayed eating in the area more simple places. So off we went; got all dressed up in our glad rags as we say in jolly old and arrived at the Forge, little did I now that this would also prove to be a life changing step as we walked in and sat at our table.

Atlanta Georgia (PRWEB) March 07, 2012

JiveBop Dance Party fits reality TV with a pair of dancing shoes. Coming soon to a computer near you, EhrDupont Productions and DJ Alan White team up to bring a new live to air reality TV show accessible via an Internet simulcast stream…everywhere in the world . JiveBop Dance Party showcases modern jive, presenting a sensory overload of great grooves, magnificent melodies, landmark lighting and dynamite dancing to the coolest music around. Like JiveBop Dance Party on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/JiveBop-Dance-Party-TV-Show/189508414449781) and visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JiveBop_TV_Dance_Party_(TV_Show) for more information

“Girls love to dance and boys love girls, any questions! Partner dancing gets partners, social media gets social, taking partner dancing to a whole new and spectacular level,” said Elisabeth Dupont, CEO and executive producer of EhrDupont Production and Management. “The JiveBop Dance Party TV Show is a 21st century, fully digital, socially interactive American Bandstand style TV Dance Party show broadcast every afternoon, right after school, on ‘live’ television and streamed live on the worldwide internet.”

JiveBop creator and show producer is Swing Hall of Fame inductee DJ Alan White, Known as “The ‘Ol Jive Daddy” to his legion of fans worldwide, who listen enthusiastically to http://www.JiveBopRadio.com brings years of Dj’ing and music and dance promotion experience to the show.

“No one understands the Modern Jive movement like Alan and no one does it better than the ‘Ol Jive Daddy,” said Dupont. “Alan perfected this same show in dance clubs all over America for more than 40 years. When we first saw this show concept we knew we had something special, unlike any other dance show. With its social interactivity, reintroduction to the Modern Jive, the return of partner dancing, and 21st century digitally enhanced production, the JiveBop Dance Party TV show will quickly become the ultimate must-see dance party.”

White has been on the cutting edge of partner dance shows for more than 40 years. From disco and James Brown, to the pure joy of swing, In the summer of 1998, led by a Gap commercial featuring the Louis Prima classic “Jump, Jive & Wail”, a band called The Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, a song called “Zoot Suit Riot” and the music of Brian Setzer, a revival of Swing music took place just as Alan predicted. Alternative music driven American college kids had collectively discovered Swing. The craze lasted only through the summer and autumn of 1998, but many of the kids who had embraced it fell in love with the dance and stayed with it.

Modern jive can be danced to any contemporary dance music, right off the radio, making it perfect for general social dancing, and just right for romantic social nuances and interactions. An estimated 50 million people worldwide actively participating in partner dancing classes and Modern Jive is specifically huge in England, which has long been a pop culture mirror, and the UK music charts today are filled with exactly the type of Euro-Disco or Euro-Pop songs with beats and tempos so good for dancing Modern Jive. “Timing is everything,” White said, “and when the timing is right all you really have to do is your creative work and then raise your hand and say ‘Yo man, over here, check this out”, and so we created JiveBop dance party.” Jivebop Saturday Night live to air a reality tv show that follows the thread, this is when the adults come out to play, says Dupont.

DJ Alan Ray White – The JiveBop Television Dance Party Worldwide – JiveBop Dance Party-TV Show –JiveBop Saturday Night and Jivebop Worldwide – JiveBop Dance Party Worldwide are exclusively represented by Australian management and production powerhouse Elisabeth Dupont, Sydney, London and New York.

Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) February 27, 2012

Dawn Career Institute is serious about its corporate culture. In the spirit of developing teamwork and collaboration, the institution recently engaged The Fun Department. On the heels of receiving Delaware Best Workplace recognition two years in a row, this is yet another initiative on DCI’s behalf to support its mission of creating an environment where people thrive – employees included.

The Fun Department partners with local businesses to implement activities that help create an enthusiastic atmosphere and build the spirit of camaraderie between employees. Many of the activities are impromptu and developed entirely unbeknownst to employees, but they are all focused on making the work day more fun.

Numerous research studies have shown the benefits of a fun work environment, which include a lighter atmosphere, greater capacity for creativity and the sharing of ideas, and overall engagement with organizational objectives.

“DCI is committed to making employees feel comfortable and creating a work environment that is both productive and engaging,” said Jena Zapata, Chief Operating Officer. “The Fun Department has already contributed to that goal. Our team has enjoyed the activities so far, and they are eagerly awaiting what else the company has in store for them.”

The Fun Department has many strategies to encourage fun. One of the company’s favorite approaches is the “Bait and Switch.” People in the workplace are informed by management that they are going to a meeting about a particularly dull and uninteresting topic, but the team from The Fun Department show up to be the actual speakers. The team then reveals their Superman-like t-shirts and jeans under their work attire.

Other strategies implemented by The Fun Department include “deliveries,” which involve replacing traditional team-building exercises with other activities, such as scavenger hunts, trivia, line dancing, contests, luncheons, games and more. Katie Burke, Executive Assistant at DCI, was a recent victim of The Fun Department when she was encouraged to recite poetry.

“The Fun Department helps to break the customary work routine by injecting fun and infusing teamwork at a competitive level,” said Jorge Echavarria, DCI’s financial aid associate. “They promote teamwork within the department, allowing us to put aside the work mentality and show our fun spirit.”

DCI’s management team is involved in determining the general spirit of the activities that are later implemented by The Fun Department. Since “fun” is subjective, the company attempts to introduce activities enjoyable for everyone.
